What we do
Three different jobs live under this heading, and they cost very different amounts. We tell you which one your kitchen actually needs.
Your existing boxes and doors, degreased, sanded, primed and sprayed in a new colour. The cheapest way to change how a kitchen reads.
New doors and drawer fronts with matching veneer on the frames, when the boxes are sound but the fronts are dated.
When the boxes are swollen, sagging or the layout never worked, replacing is the honest answer — and we will say so.
Bookcases, window seats, mudroom lockers and storage walls, scribed to walls that are not straight and trimmed to match the house.
Soft-close hinges, new drawer glides and handles, fitted and aligned rather than screwed into the old holes.
Cabinet interiors finished and shelves replaced where they have sagged, so the inside matches the outside.
How we work
Solid boxes with tired doors are the ideal candidate. Particleboard swollen under the sink, shelves that sag, or a layout that never worked are not — refinishing those buys a better-looking version of a cabinet you will still replace. We open them, check the boxes and the hinges, and say which of the three jobs your kitchen wants before quoting any of them.
Doors and drawer fronts come off, get labelled, degreased, sanded and sprayed away from your house — so there is no overspray in your kitchen and no brush marks in the finish. Frames are masked and sprayed in place. The difference between a sprayed cabinet and a brushed one is visible from across the room, and it is the whole reason to hire this out.
Bookcases, window seats, mudroom lockers, a wall of storage in an awkward alcove. The mark of a good built-in is that it reads as part of the house rather than furniture pushed against a wall — which means scribing to walls that are not straight and matching your existing trim profile, not ordering the nearest thing.
Why homeowners choose us
A cabinet finish gets touched every day for twenty years, which is why the preparation matters more here than almost anywhere else in the house:
The quote
Cabinet work is priced by the door and drawer count and by what the finish needs, so a small kitchen with forty doors can cost more than a large one with twenty.
Good to know
Not seeing yours? Call (762) 900-3286 and just ask — we're happy to help.
Substantially, when the boxes are sound — you are paying for finish work rather than for cabinetry and installation. When the boxes are not sound we say so, because a beautiful finish on a failing box is money you spend twice.
Doors and fronts are away being sprayed for several days while frames are done in place, so the cabinets are usable but open for most of it. We give you the return date at the start rather than when you ask.
Not if it is prepared properly. Degreasing is the step that decides this — kitchen cabinets carry cooking residue that paint will not bond through, and skipping it is why refinished cabinets chip within a year.
